Study on the Ox Cell Hemolytic Test in the Prostitutes´ Sera

Abstract
|
|
|
The ox cell hemolysin was found not only in the patient´s serum of infectious mononucleosis but also in normal human serum. For finding the ox cell hemolysin in normal human serum, the test performed for 426 prostitutes (age; 20^30) in Pusan and the results were obtained as following.
1. Twenty nine or 6.81% of 426 specimens were reactive and 397 or 93.19% were nonreactive to the ox cell hemolytic test.
2. The ox cell hemolysin titer was widely distributed from 1:7.5 to 1:240. And it´s peak was from 1:7.5 to 1:15 (20 specimens, 4.69%).
3. There were no positive specimens over 1:480 that infectious mononucleosis was defined.
